Hammered Strings
First we have a 1929 Knabe baby grand piano with the original ivory keys, followed by a Hungarian cimbalom built in Budapest by Schunda in the early 20th century. These are quite rare in the USA, and this is the grand-daddy of all hammered stringed instruments. Then pictured is a Brazilian berimbau, a single stringed instrument descended from the bow (as in bow & arrow).
